Shade Jason (シェイド=ジェイソン, Jason Shade) was a former servant/gamekeeper turned Frankenstein bodyguard of Lord Robert Weiss. He was also the mentor of both Fury Flatliner and Wraith Allen.
Appearance[]
Shade was a tall and well-built man with light skin and hair, a five-O'clock shadow and (strangely enough) no visible pupils.
He was usually seen wearing a dark-colored gamekeeper's winter uniform.
After getting his coat damaged by Wraith's gunshot, it's revealed Shade possesses two hexagon-shaped Frankenstein circuits in his chest.
Personality[]
As a human, Shade was always loyal to Lord Weiss. He loved children, and enjoyed Edel. After his transformation into a Frankenstein however, while his memories had been preserved, his loyalty to Lord Weiss eclipsed the rest of his personality. So much so that on order, he attacked his student with the intention of killing him.
Background[]
10 years prior to the start of the story, Shade had a son whom he cared for dearly. However, his child would eventually fall gravely ill and would eventually pass away. During this period of time, Lord Weiss offered his support for Shade and his dying son; paying for the young boy's medicine, and eventually his funeral.
Because of his kindness and all he did for his son, Shade would go on to pledge his undying loyalty to Robert; working as his gamekeeper, assisting in his experiments, and helping take of the Fury, Wraith, and Edel when their families were massacred by Titan.
1 year before the start of the story, Shade would relinquished his position as gamekeeper to become a Frankenstein so that he may serve his Lord for the rest of his existence; having made this decision after his Lord's real daughter, Edel Violet Kelly, disappeared alongside her mother.
Plot[]
He became a Frankenstein one year ago, when he relinquished his position as gamekeeper. He made his choice long ago, after Edel Violet Kelly disappeared. He is loyal to Lord Weiss, because 10 years ago Weiss paid him medicine and eventually the funeral for his child. In the end he was destroyed by Fury.
Skills and Abilities[]
As a Frankenstein, Shade was powerful enough to not only withstand a direct shotgun blast to his chest and get back up without any negative effects, but he was also incredibly fast to point of being able to catch bullets.
He was also an expert close-quarters fighter as noted by his creator, Robert Weiss, who noted that, while he wasn't as strong as his senior creation, Titan, he more then made up for it with his combative skills and his loyalty.
Shade was also very tenacious, continuing to move and fight on even after getting blasted with lightning, having almost his entire head blown off, and receiving major damage to his electrodes.
Before he was turned into a Frankenstein, Shade was a very skilled hunter; able to track Fury down with ease, training him and Wraith in the use of knives and guns respectively, as well as teaching both of them various hunting and survival skills.
